We haven't issued a BULL BULLetin in several years, so we felt we should provide an update to our many friends and clients. We are alive and well and still doing market research, but our servo seminars are no longer being offered. Here are the details:
Our president, Tom Bullock, comes to the office every day that he is in town and coordinates the research projects plus takes a very active part in quoting projects, designing questionnaires, and writing reports. At 77, he takes his vacations, too. Each winter he spends a month or two in Arizona and he spends two weeks in Vermont in the summer and again in the fall. He always has his laptop, though, so he stays on top of any projects plus his email. He and Nancy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 19th. Their 15 grandchildren are a constant joy plus an endless work force for doing mailings, etc. Tom also serves on two charitable boards and two corporate boards.
George Younkin will be 86 this November (2009), but still shows up at the office about once per week. He mentors young engineers throughout the world from his home (gwyounkin@charter.net) and distributes to them the many technical papers that he has written on servos and their optimization on real world machines. George and Tom no longer offer the two-day "Working with Servos" seminar, primarily due to the difficulty for George to travel and stand on his feet all day during the seminar. We had done this seminar about 150 times throughout the USA.
Josh is now Dr. Josh Bullock and is the VP of Strategic Advancement at Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) here in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where he is heavily involved in market research. He still serves as our technical consultant occasionally on nights and weekends. The youngest three of his five children are on our mailing team as is his wife, Jenny.
Dan Bullock is now the Chief Financial Officer for Cleary Building Corporation out of Verona, Wisconsin. Cleary is the "Official Builder" for the Green Bay Packers. Dan still does our financials and advises us financially in his spare time. His wife Kathy is our accountant and statistician between caring for their three children. She does all the data input, analysis, cross-correlations, and graphs for our reports.
Amy Bullock Stormberg served as a researcher on many of our projects, but has moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where her husband Mark grew up. They are pursuing their "Floor Solutions Plus" business there where Mark has many family ties.
Our latest study is What End Users are Looking for in Automation System Integrators 2009. Go to www.bullseyenet.com and click on this title for more information about the study. It is recession priced at $490 for an electronic copy of the 100 page report. We are also in the middle of a new study similar to the one we issued in 2000 entitled Industrial Automation and Control System Integrators. If you are an integrator or a vendor to integrators and want to participate in the new study, let me know and I'll send the link. Participants will get a 50% discount if they complete all 5 sections. Even though the original 2000 study is dated, there is still a lot of good info in it and the reduced price is only $475 for this 200 page report with 109 graphs and charts. If interested, let me know and I'll email more info.
If you have had an address or title change, let us know the latest so we can keep our database up to date. Also, be sure to watch the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl on February 7, 2010.
In hopes that the impending economic recovery is kind to us all,
Tom Bullock and the Bull's Eye family
P.S. Even though we haven't moved in over five years, the Highway Department changed our street name and the post office changed our ZIP code. Of course, not at the same time, so we endured two rounds of stationary reprinting. The correct address is:
